It is all thanks to Jaco Kotze that we are in this situation with the closure of the white road. Who gave him the right to act on behalf of all the Langebaan ratepayers? Who is going to foot the bill at the end of all this. I certainly did not sign a mandate to him to act on my behalf as a paying ratepayer. There are a lot of people in Langebaan that is in favor of the development but Jaco is misleading the community and makes out as if everybody is against the development. I think he should resign as chairman of the Langebaan Ratepayers Ass. This issue could have been resolved a long time ago and all of us would have had access to the beach. I am sure that the developer is open for mutual solutions in favor of BOTH the development and the people of Langebaan. Regarding the latest update on this site, how would you like someone to come and cut your gate and fence open? Really now...how common can you get? I am ashamed to say I live in Langebaan..... |

thanks for the post. Regarding your comments and blame, Jaco Coetzer is not responsible for the closure of the road, the owner is. The owner has threatened to do this several times in local newspapers and more. This is a similar tactic to the Erection of the gate on the tar road, yet that proved to be a mistake. Over 3000 people are opposed to this development and have been for over 20 years. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and thanks for sharing yours. The laws of the country do need to be observed and the White Road has been on maps as far back as the 1800's. There are laws regarding access. Please read the Court Order and make up your own mind http://www.savesharkbay.org/LinkClick.aspx?link=CourtOrder+Langebaan.pdf&tabid=1183&mid=2075 If you wish to discuss this matter with Jaco, or anything else regarding the Langebaan Rate Payer's Association, may i suggest you contact him info@langebaanratepayers.co.za . |
