Barbed Wire fencing is up and around the Shark Bay site. Who knows if the land owner intends to honour access to the beach, but barbed wire is right across the 2 normal access points.
Not a good thing for sure.

Barbed Wire fencing is surrounding the Land around Shark bay. Obviously the landowners have a right to protect their land which we should all respect.
There are now signs saying "PRIVATE - Trespassers will be Prosecuted."
We do not know what the landowner's plans are for allowing access, but the original access points (2 pathways) are fenced off with 3 layers of barbed wire fencing.
I do know that idiotic quad bikers have been riding all over his land (which I personally would have shot not fenced out) and tour busses of visitors are driving along the dirt road and trampling his ground, so you can understand why he may be doing this. Yet I cannot see a valid reason to fence the traditional pathways off with barbed wire without even a polite notice saying why it is being done or what he itends to do.
Please respect the property and do not damage the fencing or trespass for now. What he has done may not be legal, but we should not act in a similar way. |
